About Us

My name is Emersyn Wenzel. I was born in Kamloops and raised in Knutsford, in a farmhouse surrounded by open land just fifteen minutes from the city centre.
Having lived here my entire life, I have met people from many different places, backgrounds, and cultures. Kamloops has always felt like home to me, and I value the sense of community and belonging that comes with that.
It is important to me that others feel safe, welcome, and at home in this city in the same way I do. That belief is what inspired Midterms and Mountains—a platform dedicated to sharing student experiences, local stories, and the realities of life in Kamloops.
My name is Manon Marcelet, I come straight from France and I am an exchange student at TRU. I am currently in my second semester here, but in my second year of communication studies, and I want to work in event planning in France.
It is important to me to help others find their place here, as I myself have received help in the past. I might understand exchange student more, as I how moving to a new country, a new campus, and a new system can feel overwhelming, and I know how reassuring it is to feel understood. Through this website, I want to share honest experiences, practical tips, and small discoveries that make students life easier and more enjoyable.
Outside class, I create and sew clothes, make pastries or write. As I left those hobbies in France for a year, I’m also interested in discovering new places, spending time outdoors. Physical activites and hiking are for me a good way to spend time after class. This platform is my way of connecting people, sharing stories, and making the TRU experience feel a little more familiar for everyone.
